国产视频 (IIS) will host a conversation on classical Islamic theology and its relevance today. The event is part of its Islamic History and Thought Lecture Series (IHTLS). will discuss with Dr Wafi Momin听his new book,
About the event
Why are we here? Where are we going? Does God exist? Does God love us? If so, why is there suffering? Medieval Islamic theologians grappled with these questions. They offered creative and nuanced answers鈥搊ften disagreeing with one another鈥搕hat speak to the universal human desire to understand our place in the cosmos.
Professor Ahmed’s book is the first English translation of Kit膩b U峁Ｅ玪 al-D墨n, a theological treatise written in the late 11th century by the Hanafi scholar Ab奴 Yusr al-Pazdaw墨.
In this discussion, Dr Momin will speak with Professor Ahmed about the book. They will also discuss how wisdom from the classical Islamic tradition can inform our conversations about God and the universe today.
