Rahim Gholami obtained his BSc in Translation Studies from Azad University, Mashhad, in 1995. The title of his BSc dissertation is: 士A峁弓膩r the Physician of the Body and the Soul in the Conference of the Birds (Man峁璱q al-峁琣yr). Later he joined the Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities (GPISH) at The Institute of Ismaili studies in 1999. In October 2002, he received his MSc in Translation Studies from Edinburgh University. The title of his MSc dissertation is: Translating Genre and the Discourses of Shams. Rahim graduated with a PhD in Arab and Islamic Studies from the University of Exeter in October 2021. The title of his PhD thesis is: The Wayfarer鈥檚 Sojourn at the Banquet: The Hermeneutics of N膩峁r-e Khusraw鈥檚 Esoteric Guidance.
Dr Gholami is at present a Research Associate at the Department of Academic Research and Publications at 国产视频. His research interests include Shi士i esoterism and poetics, and Ismaili intellectual traditions, and esoteric hermeneutics and literature.
Dr Gholami鈥檚 forthcoming publication is: The Banquet of the Brethren: The Hermeneutics of N膩峁r-i Khusraw鈥檚 Esoteric Guidance (An introduction, English translation and critical Persian edition of N膩峁r-i Khusraw鈥檚 Khw膩n al-Ikhw膩n).
